7 Months and Counting

So I actually intended to do this post at 6 months, but didn't get to it. Within 10 days of this little guy turning 6 months he had his check-up and received immunizations, cut his first 2 teeth, and survived the swine flu. After all that, still smiling.
He LOVES his Daddy!
(Above) This picture is actually of Kaulin @ 9 mo. and his cousin Wyatt @ 11 mo.
(Below) Gavin and Wyatt's little brother Rees.
The other day I tended little Rees and it was a little de -ja -vou for me. I used to tend Wyatt and he and Kaulin played continuously.
Little Rees sat and rubbed Gavin's head and Gavin kept giggling, so cute!
**Warning to Grandma: We've got Double Trouble coming!! We'd all better soak in this adorable innocence before it quickly fades! (:
I have this Halloween spider I hang from the light in our front room and all of our babies have been intrigued by it. It's hilarious, when we reach Gavin up to touch it he squeals like a little seal, I love it!
Starting to eat food, and loving it!
Even cookies!
I love this kid! I must say he has a very radiant spirit and is a joyous addition to our family, and my favorite of all: he loves to cuddle!

Sadie Mae

Sadie is in a little dance class that performed at the Santaquin Christmas Craft show on Saturday and it was so cute. I wasn't 100% sure she was going to let go of my leg and join her class, but once she got up there she warmed up.
Um, I never received a note saying to wear pink shoes, guess I should've figured that out myself. Didn't even think about it. However I LOVE their little costumes. They all looked very cute!
I LOVED watching my little girl dance Saturday. It took me back to practing in the upstairs of the old fire station on Spanish Fork main street when I was just Sadie's age. So Fun.
Last week the 5 little girls got to go to the firestation where one of the dad's who is a firefighter by profession taught the girls some pretty cool stuff. We had a fire drill with our kids for family night a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure we terrified them, so this was prefect for Sadie. My favorite thing was having Steve put his helmet and all of his gear on and having the girls know not to be scared of him, but rather if a firefighter is in their house he is there to help them. Sadie came home so excited "Mom I'm not scared, he's just nice and is going to help me!!"
They even got to go for a ride around the block, earphones and all to talk to each other.
I'm sure sis will rememeber this for a while, very fun!

Big Day!

Kaulin in the Halloween costume parade up at school, proudly showing his sword.
Some of his kindergarten friends
Later that day Grandma and Grandpa came to visit so Grandma could get a perm.
When they were getting ready to leave Kaulin ran in VERY excited and announced he'd just lost his FIRST TOOTH!!
Grandma gave him $1. And told him about the tooth fairy and to place the tooth under his pillow. Well, Sadie was SCARED to death that some little fairy was going to be coming into their room that night while they were sleeping. So we watched the Santa Clause 2 that night to show her she didn't need to be scared. But on the movie remember the tooth fairy comes in the window and naturally Sadie was so worried he'd forget to close her window... and on and on. It took a while to get them calmed down that night. But a very big and exciting day for Kaulin. His other bottom one actually is almost out as well. Then he'll get new teeth and start to look big. Crazy! (:

Off to Neverland...

Our Ward Party was a couple of weeks ago and is always such a blast! Kaulin started going through my mom's box of old junk and found Peter Pan, that's where we got started.
Captain Hook and Michael (:
Peter Pan My Grandma made this Peter Pan costume for my uncle in the 60's. Kaulin thought it was great!
Here's our Pink Tink

(Always must be chewing a fingernail...grrr Daddy and Gma Janice!)

All of our costumes were VERY make-shift & thrown together this year! Cory & I weren't going to dress up but the things you do for your kids (:
Captain Hook with Michael, Tinkerbell & Wendy
and Peter Pan.
*If you look closely you can see that I am holding a blue ribbon attached to some treats.

5th Annual Party!

My Sis and her Husband had their annual dress-up, murder mystery party this past weekend. We have done it for the past 5 years now, and it's always been so fun!

Our Hosts: Marilyn Monroe and Hugh Hefner
Mr. Super Sleuth Detertive: Elton John (Cory's youngest bro Jake)
He really ought to consider this detective work stuff, he knew just what questions to ask and helped solve the case!

Classic Elvis
Richard Simmons

Us As: Cher & Ozzy Osbourn
Yikes, little scary, the camera actually shaded this picture when it took.
*Cory won best actor! (um...and we're assigned costumes (: )
**My very talented sis-in-law Jess did my make-up for the event, THANKS!!
This is the only full body shot we got, the kids didn't quite know what to think (:
*Thanks to old drill team props, Cher's costume was created

Elton John making a pass at Richard Simmons...

Hugh Hefner and his notorious PLAYBOY favorites! (:
Madonna and Pamela Anderson

Our game was a little different than usual, allowing more people to attend which made it funner.
Thanks for all of your hard work planning this, we love it and look forward to next year's...right?!!

So if...

So if your baby's eyes look like this, and they haven't been crying swine flu could be a possibility.
Kaulin came home from school Monday with a fever, and no symptoms prior to school that day. Fevered all night and had a bad dry cough, long story short. Gavin woke up with fever of 103.6 yesterday morning and sounded like a tom cat meowing when he cried and had a dry cough. Called Dr's office. Fever that high wanted to check him out and he said first big give away are his eyes. I had Gavin in for his 6 mo. well check Tuesday (3 days ago) as of then our Dr. had admitted 4 swine flu cases in the past 4-5 weeks. When I went in yesterday they had admitted 8 since Tuesday, awesome. Positive point: Dr. Later said like with other things, we probably (too soon to be sure of anything with this) will have immunity to this and not get it again, unless it turns into a seasonal flu and comes back every year in a slightly different form. Long night with our little guy, our big kids so far are doing just fine. So, FYI..symptoms to watch for.
I got to take these darling little girls to their dance class on Monday. When I opened my car door to have them jump out another mom passed us and said "Oh, what cute little twins!" My reply was "Thanks!" with a big smile. Megan's mom Amy got the same reaction when she picked them up. Kind of crazy: I used to tend Megan once in a while when she was a baby, and as I mom, I couldn't tell which baby was upstairs crying, Sadie or Megan, kinda crazy. I love that they have so much fun together. Cute Girls.
